FAQ

Payments:

Sessions for individuals are $150 and sessions for couples are $175.

I am paneled with the following insurance companies: Aetna, Anthem (EAP, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California, Cigna, Magellan, Oxford (Optum), United Healthcare (Optum)

If you are out of network, I can offer a superbill on a monthly basis, which you can submit to your insurance company in case they offer reimbursement.

Payments may be made by cash, check or credit card. For virtual sessions, I require a credit card, which I process through Headway if you’re using insurance or through Ivy Pay if you are out of network. I request payment at the end of each session.

WHAT IF I AM OUT OF NETWORK AND CAN'T AFFORD CASH PAY?

Occasionally, I am able to offer a lower fee based on financial need. Please inquire if this applies to you. If those time slots are full, I will be happy to provide you with referrals for sliding scale therapy.

Length of Sessions:

Sessions typically last 55-60 minutes. Ideally, we would meet once a week. Depending on your goals and symptoms, we may decide to meet more or less than that.

The length of treatment depends on the severity of the issue you're facing as well as your goals for treatment. Typical EMDR therapy is about eight to twelve sessions, however, it may take longer depending on what we are working on. More traditional therapy can last from a few months to a few years.  I am happy to discuss this with you after our first few sessions to give you an estimate.

Do you see Clients with any problem area or diagnosis?

In order to provide the highest quality of care, I only work with clients whose needs align with my area of expertise. If a diagnosis or issue falls outside of my scope, I believe it’s in the client’s best interest to refer them to a provider who is better suited to support them.

I am unable to take on clients who are actively suicidal and/or in immediate need of crisis intervention. My typical client is fairly insightful and functional in most areas of life.

CanCellation Policy:

I request that cancelations be made 24 hours before your appointment.  The late cancelation fee is $75 and a no-show fee is the full session rate.

My Availability:

As of July 2025, I have a few openings for virtual therapy during the weekday daytime hours. My evenings are currently booked, and I do not see clients on the weekends. I do not have office openings. Please contact me to schedule a free consultation.

I take 4 weeks off throughout the year, including the first two weeks of August, Thanksgiving week, the week of Christmas.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

During our first session, we will discuss your goals for therapy, review your history and I will answer any questions you may have about me and/or the therapy process. Then, we will discuss a plan for treatment. to make sure we’re on the same page. The first session typically covers Phase 1 in EMDR, which is History Taking and Treatment Planning.

For couples therapy, I like to get to know how the couple typically interacts while I gather history, problem areas and create goals. I do not take sides and I am not here to blame. If one person in the relationship is anxious or resistant to therapy, please feel free to contact me so we can discuss that.
