Approach
My approach is always collaborative, client-centered and strengths-based. I currently only have openings for virtual therapy sessions, and I strive to create a supportive, warm and inclusive environment. I am committed to offering a safe place for clients from all backgrounds and identities.
My primary therapeutic approach is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a method developed by Dr. Francine Shapiro at EMDR Institute, where I received my training. While EMDR is widely recognized for its effectiveness in treating PTSD, extensive research has demonstrated its success in addressing a broad range of concerns, including anxiety, panic disorder, depression, OCD, and eating disorders.
In my experience, EMDR often provides faster and more lasting results than traditional talk therapy approaches. However, if you decide talk therapy is the route you’d like to take, I use an integrative approach, which means I use different modalities when needed, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, somatic therapy, motivational interviewing, among others. Through talk therapy I help clients clarify their needs, define their boundaries and challenge the patterns that no longer serve them in order to reach their goals and live their best life. I address a wide spectrum of issues, including anxiety, life transitions, depression, self-esteem, relationship dynamics, stress management, women's issues, and parenting challenges.
For couples therapy, I utilize Imago Relationship Therapy and The Gottman Method, both of which offer structured, research-supported frameworks to help partners build deeper connection and resolve conflict.
